Nile Rodgers Salutes 70 Years of the Fender Stratocaster
The full scope of what Nile Rodgers has accomplished with a Strat in his hands is almost unimaginable. There was never a more appropriate artist to join us in celebrating 70 years of the Fender Stratocaster than one who has contributed so much to the world of music with it.
  • Guitar Center was proud to host a celebratory event for Taylor’s 50th anniversary, in which we were joined by company cofounder Bob Taylor and CEO/Master Guitar Designer Andy Powers, alongside artists Ben Harper, Elise Trouw, Lisa Loeb, Steve Poltz and Molly Miller at our flagship Hollywood store.
  • Guitar Center Vintage held a special, invitation-only vintage event at the Hollywood store to feature some of the most interesting and valuable guitars they've found over the past few years. We had a chance to pry Guitar Center Vintage Director Jack Hetherington and Nick Conte, one of their more experienced vintage buyers and appraisers, away from the preparations for a brief talk about some of the valuable pieces that would be available at this event.

Gear Tips

  • While not quite the living, breathing entity that is an acoustic guitar, the electric still benefits from a little routine maintenance to keep it in top form. We’ll suggest five easy ways to care for your electric guitar, which are considered good habits that can keep your favorite instrument playing for years to come.
  • We’ll equip you with a few essential tips for sidechaining in your own productions, as well as cover the basics. Our aim is to inspire you to discover new and novel ways of deploying this technique to tighten up your mixes and give them a dynamic, punchy edge.

Buying Guides

Best Gifts for Beginner Guitarists in 2024
There are lots of beginner-focused products available—whether you’re seeking guitars, amps or pedals—and the number of fun and inexpensive accessories are practically limitless. That said, we’ve chosen some popular top-sellers in a few different categories to help you get off to a great start on your gift quest.
  • We have a “few” guitarists here at Guitar Center who banded together to curate some much-needed, surprising and/or smile-inducing gift options for those who play a lot. The team purposefully focused on items that would appeal mostly to hard-working players with gig-specific gear needs and desires, so you shouldn’t go wrong with one or two of our suggestions.

Interviews

  • The new V4412 and V4415 deliver considerable upgrades to their maximum volume specs, making the 4400 system loud enough for almost any non-arena environment, as well as having the signal headroom to maintain clarity and dimension for lower-volume gigs. Harbinger Product Manager Patrick O’Connor is here to explain why the 4400 series represents “our most powerful and capable loudspeakers yet.”
  • We’re excited to have Allen Abbassi, Fender Director of Product Management for electric guitars and basses, onboard to give you a deeper look at the nearly 80 models the company is bringing to the re-energized Player II series.
  • The music business may have a vast bookcase chock full of stories where dreams came true—as well as an entire library devoted to dashed hopes—but few tales are as magical as that of Randy Smith and MESA/Boogie.
