The Byzance ride cymbal has a low-frequency range with esoteric character due to the untreated finish. Dark, earthy, with a short sustain and a defined ping and bell.

The Meinl Byzance Dark series is handmade in Turkey using B20 bronze alloy. The surface of the cymbals are completely unlathed. They have a raw natural and unprocessed look.
