Since 1975, Gibson electric guitars have been handcrafted in Nashville, Tennessee, in the heart of Music City, where wood and steel meet heart and soul. More than 130 years after Orville Gibson began building instruments, the company continues to honor that legacy through premium materials, time-honored processes, original Kalamazoo tooling and the expertise of its craftspeople. The result is an electric guitar shaped by Gibson history and built to inspire.

Tonewoods
Every Gibson electric guitar begins with carefully selected tonewoods. Gibson works with its suppliers to source premium materials with an eye toward the future of guitar making, then pairs distinctive woods to help shape each instrument’s sound, feel and visual character. Details such as figured maple tops give individual guitars a look as unique as a fingerprint.
Steel
At Gibson’s Nashville craftories, wood and steel come together through time-honored methods and historic machinery.. Rope binding and original tooling from Kalamazoo remain part of the process, including the ES laminate press that has helped shape Gibson instruments for generations. Each step reflects Gibson’s commitment to the enduring methods and attention to detail behind its most iconic instruments.
Heart and Soul
The heart of Gibson is its people. Their artistry is present in the details, from hand-sprayed sunburst finishes to the individual touches that make every guitar feel distinct. But the final set of hands belongs to the player. At home, in the studio or on the concert stage, that is where the instrument finds its soul: in your hands, through your sound and as part of your story.
