Vintage 1970s Neotech / Melcor 8-Channel Pre/EQ System — Custom Re-Racked Exceptional vintage 8-channel Neotech / Melcor preamp and EQ system, professionally re-racked from its original console-style format into a custom housing with dedicated power supply. This unique configuration puts eight channels of classic discrete analog circuitry into a practical, studio-friendly rackmount format. Melcor holds an important place in the development of American professional audio. The company pioneered early discrete Class A amplifier designs, including the legendary Melcor 1731, and its engineering lineage is closely associated with the development of API. Melcor designs such as the AML27 preamp and GME-20 EQ are regarded as important predecessors to the iconic API 312 and 550 circuits. The result is a substantial piece of early American recording-console history, transformed into an exceptionally useful modern rack system. Eight channels of vintage discrete processing make this an especially compelling piece for tracking, mixing, outboard processing or building a serious analog front end.
