Description

Vintage 1970s Helios Custom-Made Mastering EQ. Exceptional vintage 1970s Helios custom-made mastering equalizer, representing the highly specialized approach for which Helios became known. Unlike standardized production equipment, Helios consoles and modules were frequently built and adapted to the specific requirements of individual studios and engineers, making unusual custom configurations like this particularly desirable. This unit features dedicated high-pass and low-pass filtering with selectable frequency ranges, along with variable gain control, providing precise control over the frequency spectrum and overall signal level. The combination makes it an especially interesting tool for mastering, mix-bus processing and other applications where broad, musical tonal shaping is desired. Helios Electronics was founded by engineer Dick Swettenham in 1969 and built custom consoles for many important recording facilities of the era. This is a particularly fascinating piece of British analog recording history and an excellent opportunity for a mastering engineer, recording studio, collector or serious enthusiast looking for an uncommon piece of vintage Helios hardware.
