Roland FP-30X - So Good it just might be your Forever Piano!

Description
For players who want realistic piano feel without the footprint of a traditional console instrument, the Roland FP-30X 88-key digital piano combines responsive weighted action, expressive piano tone and modern wireless connectivity in a streamlined portable design. Built around Roland’s PHA-4 Standard keyboard with escapement and ivory-feel key surfaces, the FP-30X delivers detailed dynamics and natural piano response across a full 88-key layout. Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, 256-note polyphony and onboard stereo speaker system support expressive playback for a wide range of musical styles, while Bluetooth audio/MIDI and USB connectivity allow integration with music apps, DAWs and online lessons. Available in Black and White finishes, the Roland FP-30X is designed for players who need authentic piano response and flexible digital functionality in a compact instrument for home practice, lessons and portable performance use.
PHA-4 Standard Keyboard With Natural Piano Feel
The Roland FP-30X features an 88-key PHA-4 Standard keyboard with escapement and ivory-feel key surfaces designed to recreate the response of an acoustic piano. Progressive hammer weighting provides a heavier feel in lower registers and lighter response in higher notes, supporting realistic piano technique and dynamic control. Five touch sensitivity settings allow players to tailor keyboard response for different playing styles, while the full-size layout supports both developing students and experienced pianists.
SuperNATURAL Piano Engine and Expanded Sound Library
Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine gives the FP-30X detailed piano response with smooth tonal transitions across varying playing dynamics. The onboard sound library includes acoustic pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings and synthesizer voices for expanded musical flexibility. With 256-note polyphony, the Roland FP-30X maintains consistent playback during layered passages, sustain-heavy playing and more complex arrangements. Dedicated ambience and modulation effects provide additional tonal shaping across different voices and performance styles.
Bluetooth Audio, MIDI and USB Connectivity
Bluetooth audio and MIDI connectivity allow the Roland FP-30X to integrate with mobile devices, music apps and online learning platforms without requiring additional cables. Players can stream music through the onboard speakers, connect to apps such as Roland Piano Every Day and GarageBand, or use Bluetooth MIDI for composition and recording workflows. USB audio/MIDI connectivity also supports direct integration with DAWs and music production software for home recording applications.
Built-In Stereo Speakers and Everyday Practice Features
The Roland FP-30X features a built-in stereo speaker system powered by dual 11W amplifiers for clear playback during home practice, lessons and smaller performance environments. Roland’s onboard speaker tuning helps maintain balanced piano response across different volume levels, whether practicing quietly or using the internal speakers for casual performances. Twin headphone outputs support quieter practice and side-by-side lessons, while Twin Piano mode divides the keyboard into matching pitch ranges for instruction and practice exercises. Additional onboard functions include metronome controls, transpose functions and dual mode support for layered sound combinations.
A Roland Digital Piano for Home and Portable Performance
Combining realistic weighted response, expanded wireless connectivity and expressive piano tone, the Roland FP-30X digital piano provides a streamlined playing experience for beginners, advancing students and experienced pianists alike. Its compact design, responsive keyboard action and flexible Bluetooth integration make it well suited for home practice, lessons, recording workflows and portable performance applications. I did a lot of research before choosing the Roland FP30X. My store did a great job helping me get it ordered, and brought into the store.
A good piano for many

The sounds are excellent, but the ability to switch sounds back and forth quickly is sadly lacking. I am not sure this would be a decent stage piano, so I leave mine at home for rehearsal. I note that the price has come down considerably, which does not surprise me. Action is good, sounds are great, but really, not a keyboard for a working musician doing gigs.

After many many reviews between the Roland and Yamaha, I heard many great things about the Roland. After going in person to test both, the Roland keyboard had a GREAT sound and the keys were the perfect weight. It made it feel high end reassuring to me that my money wouldn't be wasted! I could not recommend the Roland FP-30X enough!!!
Great upgrade! Very happy!

Upgraded from Yamaha psr ew-320. I did like the Yamaha but I wanted to upgrade to something with fully weighted keys. This I think is not so much a keyboard but more like a digital piano. I take to my lessons once a week and it is decidedly heavier than the Yamaha but it's manageable. The first remarks when people first heard it was "wow, it sounds like a piano". I take that as a good thing. Now I can work on my finger strength and the nuances of the keys, just like a real piano.
Excellent item for home use

What is the difference between the Roland FP 30x and the FP 10 other than price? As an older person who once played piano, I'd like to get back into it. Not looking for bells and whistles just a good "Acoustic" piano sound and feel
They have the same engine and keypad. Go with the lower priced FP 10.submitted3 years ago

Are the keys weighted? One answer said yes and i e no. Which one is correct?
They are not weighted like an acoustic piano. All manufacturers of "electronic/digital keyboards have their way of simulating it. "Touch Sensitivity". This means the harder you press the louder it gets.submitted4 years ago
