Description
The QSC K12.2 12" powered speaker gives performers, DJs, venues and production teams a high-output portable PA speaker with advanced DSP control in a road-ready enclosure. Built with a 2000W Class-D amplifier module, 12" low-frequency driver and 1.4" high-frequency driver, the QSC K12.2 delivers the output, clarity and coverage needed for front-of-house sound, stage monitoring, DJ playback and installed applications. Its 132dB maximum SPL provides the headroom required for larger rooms and louder events, while QSC’s Directivity-Matched Transition design helps maintain more consistent coverage across the listening area. Combining powerful amplification, onboard processing and flexible deployment options, the K12.2 is designed to serve as a standalone PA speaker or as part of a larger professional sound system for users researching qsc k12 and qsc k12.2 specs.
2000W Class-D Power and 132dB Maximum SPL
The K12.2 uses an ultra-efficient 2000W Class-D amplifier module matched to its 12" woofer and high-frequency driver, giving the speaker the output and headroom needed for clear vocals, full-range music playback and higher-volume live sound reinforcement. With a maximum SPL of 132dB, the QSC K12.2 can function as a main PA speaker for bands, DJs, presenters and event spaces where strong projection and clean output are critical. Its full-range voicing delivers solid low-frequency response, articulate mids and detailed highs, making the speaker effective on its own or paired with a dedicated subwoofer.
Onboard DSP With Presets, Scenes and Delay
Advanced onboard DSP gives the QSC K12.2 significantly more system control than a basic powered loudspeaker. Factory EQ presets help tailor the speaker for common applications such as live sound, dance music, stage monitoring, handheld microphones and instrument amplification. User scenes can store settings including EQ, input configuration, crossover and delay, helping streamline recurring setups across multiple venues or events. The built-in delay function also supports rear-fill and distributed speaker applications, giving the QSC K12.2 two-way 12" 2000Ww powered portable pa speaker with integrated speaker processor the flexibility needed for more complex PA system layouts.
Flexible Inputs for Portable and Installed Systems
Two combo XLR/TRS inputs allow the K12.2 to accept microphones, line-level sources, mixers and instruments depending on the application. A thru output supports connection to another powered speaker, making it easier to build stereo systems, feed additional zones or expand coverage throughout a venue. While the K12.2 does not include Bluetooth functionality, its wired input architecture is designed for stable, professional live sound operation. For users connecting two QSC K12.2 speakers, a common setup is running left and right outputs from a mixer to each speaker or using the thru connection when distributing a mono signal.
Portable Enclosure With Multiple Deployment Options
The K12.2 is built for portable and installed applications, with a durable ABS enclosure, integrated handles and a 47.8 lb. weight that helps keep transport manageable for working musicians, mobile DJs and event crews. It can be positioned upright as a main PA speaker, placed on its side as a floor monitor or mounted on a speaker pole with straight or 7.5-degree down-tilt positioning. Integrated rigging points and optional mounting accessories expand its use for flown, wall-mounted and truss-mounted installations, giving the QSC K12.2 a versatile role in mobile PA rigs, houses of worship, rehearsal spaces, small venues and professional production environments.
QSC K12.2 12" Powered Speaker: FAQ
How do you set up QSC K12.2 speakers with a subwoofer?
Connect your mixer output to the subwoofer input, then run the subwoofer output to the K12.2. Use the K12.2 sub or crossover preset that matches your subwoofer setup, then adjust levels so the tops and sub blend evenly.
Does the QSC K12.2 have Bluetooth?
No. The QSC K12.2 does not include Bluetooth audio streaming; it uses wired inputs such as combo XLR/TRS connections for professional audio sources.
How do you connect two QSC K12 speakers?
For stereo, connect the left and right outputs of a mixer to separate K12 or K12.2 speakers. For mono expansion, you can send signal to one speaker and use its thru output to feed another powered speaker.
Can the QSC K12.2 be used without a mixer?
Yes. The K12.2 can accept microphones, instruments and line-level sources directly through its combo XLR/TRS inputs, although a mixer provides greater routing, EQ and level control for larger sound systems.
Does the QSC K12 have built-in delay functions?
The K12.2 includes onboard DSP delay that can be used for rear-fill and distributed speaker setups. The original K12 and the K12.2 are different models, so delay functionality should be confirmed for the exact version being used.

QSC K Series Legacy Continued
I've always been a QSC guy -- Started out with the OG K10's, added 2 KW181 subs, and then eventually upgraded the K10's to KW153's due to the growing size of the events I DJ. I love the 153's and they are amazing speakers, but they are complete overkill for house parties and smaller events, not to mention the difficulty for me to move them in/out and get them up on stands by myself. Enter the K12.2's: a perfect blend of power and portability. My main apprehension about buying them was the new design. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked some of the changes they had made (using 2 pole cups, smaller rubber feet, new on board menu) but it's hard to judge a speaker looking at it online and in bad YouTube videos, so I made the leap trusting that QSC toiled over every change and innovated in a way that would continue the K series legacy, and boy did they. These babies are everything I needed, wanted, and hoped for. Bottom line, if you are in a similar situation, they're definirely worth the money. If you have the original K series though, I would probably hang on to them because they are still pretty similar. One quirk to note, for the past few months, I had been checking availability online and waiting for it to say that these speakers were in stock at my local guitar center, but it always said they weren't. When I eventually called, they said they had them in stock and when I went into the store, they had tons of them. Not sure if it's a website glitch or if they are just selling faster than the availability status can be updated, but don't trust the online stock count.

Returned them disappointed
I have used the gen 1 k12s for years Finally upgraded to the k12.2 Found out after more research and at a gig they will go into protection mode if signal from source is too high. QSC said do to the amount of repairs in the past this new protection mode will save the warranty department on the amount of repairs. Problem is I got half the volume out of the k12.2 as I did with the originals before they shut down and then had to be powered down and back on again. Keep in mind I have pro gear and have ran multiple k12s gen one the past 8 years and not one issue. Very disappointed and was a QSC fan but am looking into something new. Not to mention the price increase in the last two months nearly 500$ for the ks118 I will spend elsewhere unfortunately. Do Your research!

The speaker sounds great as an asdition to my amps and line array speaker. I do wish I could figure out how to get less hiss from it but I think that is an issue I can fix with better product knowledge of all my stuff to quiet the over all mix coming from the mixer to the powered speakers.

I need to fly 4 of these. Is there a special kit (shown in the video)? Should I fly them vertical or horizontal (as in the video)?
Ideally these should be transported vertically but would be fine in a horizontal position as well.
