Allen & Heath Qu-3 and Qu-3D Digital Mixers | Demo and Overview

Description
Bring professional digital mixing and networked audio together in a compact console built for modern production environments. The Allen & Heath Qu-3D 32-channel digital mixer with Dante combines the 96kHz XCVI processing architecture of the next-generation Qu series with integrated Dante connectivity for live sound, broadcast, houses of worship and professional installations. Featuring 32 mono/linkable processing channels, two stereo inputs, 12 configurable mixes and four mono/linkable matrix outputs, the Qu-3D delivers extensive mixing capabilities in a desktop-friendly format. Its built-in Dante interface supports 16x16 channels at 48kHz or 96kHz, with an optional upgrade expanding capacity to 32x32 channels. Updated microphone preamps, high-performance converters and DEEP Processing compatibility provide detailed sound and advanced tonal control, while nine motorized faders, six customizable channel layers and a responsive 7" touchscreen streamline operation. With integrated recording, SLink expansion, mixing assistants and flexible routing, the Qu-3D combines powerful audio processing and network integration in one professional mixer.
96kHz XCVI Core and DEEP Processing Provide Detailed Sound and Flexible Effects
Built around Allen & Heath's XCVI processing core, the Qu-3D delivers 96kHz audio performance with the headroom and precision required for professional live sound and recording applications. Updated microphone preamps and high-performance converters support detailed audio reproduction, while a specified 110dB dynamic range and local microphone-to-main output latency below 0.7ms provide responsive performance. Six multi-FX engines offer reverbs, delays, modulation effects and other processing tools, each with dedicated stereo returns for flexible mixing. The console also supports optional DEEP Processing upgrades derived from Allen & Heath's flagship dLive system, including modeled preamps, compressors, graphic EQs and advanced effects. Each input channel features a high-pass filter, gate, four-band parametric EQ, compressor and delay, while flexible insert routing supports additional processing configurations. These tools provide control over individual sources, monitor mixes and main outputs for applications ranging from presentations to complex live performances.
Integrated Dante Networking Expands Digital Audio Distribution
A defining feature of the Qu-3D is its integrated Dante interface, which connects to compatible networked audio equipment through a dedicated locking etherCON port. The built-in interface supports 16x16 channels of digital audio at 48kHz or 96kHz, enabling integration with Dante-enabled stage boxes, processors, recording systems and installed audio networks. An optional Dante upgrade expands capacity to 32x32 channels for applications requiring additional networked I/O. Fully patchable Dante inputs and outputs allow engineers to assign networked audio sources and destinations according to production requirements, while configurable clock synchronization supports integration with compatible digital audio systems. Alongside Dante, the Qu-3D retains SLink connectivity for Allen & Heath Everything I/O expansion and compatible digital mixing systems. Depending on the connected protocol, SLink supports configurations of up to 128x128 channels at 96kHz. Together, these connections provide flexible routing options for distributed sound systems, multiroom installations, broadcast workflows and professional live productions.
Responsive Touchscreen Control and Intelligent Assistants Streamline Operation
The Qu-3D combines familiar hands-on controls with an updated interface designed to simplify routing and processing. A bright 7" capacitive touchscreen provides access to channel settings, effects, routing and system configuration, while nine 100 mm motorized faders offer precise physical control. Six customizable channel strip layers let engineers organize inputs, mixes and other essential functions according to their workflow, and eight assignable SoftKeys provide quick access to frequently used commands. Individual channel displays identify channels and assignments, while configurable chromatic LED meters provide visual feedback for monitoring signal levels. Gain Assistant helps establish suitable input levels and continuously monitors signals during performances to help prevent unexpected peaks, while Feedback Assistant identifies problematic frequencies and applies up to 16 filters per mix to reduce feedback. A 32-channel Automatic Mic Mixer simplifies conferences, panel discussions and other speech-focused applications by automatically managing microphone levels without introducing additional processing latency. Free Qu-MixPad software for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android enables remote mixer operation throughout a venue, while Qu4You allows performers to adjust their personal monitor mixes.
Integrated USB-C and SD Recording Support Flexible Production Workflows
Recording and playback capabilities are integrated directly into the Qu-3D, allowing engineers to capture performances, conduct virtual soundchecks and connect to computer-based production systems without a separate multichannel audio interface. The USB-C connection provides 32x32 channels of 24-bit audio at 48kHz or 96kHz for use with compatible recording software. An SD card slot supports multitrack recording and playback of up to 32 channels at 48kHz or 16 channels at 96kHz, while the USB-A port enables stereo recording, playback and data transfer. Flexible routing allows recording sources and playback returns to be assigned according to each production's requirements. Whether capturing a live band, recording a worship service or preparing tracks for postproduction, the Qu-3D combines local recording, computer interfacing and networked audio capabilities in a single mixing platform.
Compact Construction and Expandable I/O Support Professional Installations
The Qu-3D combines professional mixing capabilities with a compact enclosure measuring 17.5" x 12.7" x 6.7" and weighing approximately 15.45 lb. Its angled touchscreen and organized control surface are designed for desktop operation, while an optional 19" rackmount kit provides installation flexibility for touring racks and permanent audio systems. Local connectivity includes 16 combination XLR/1/4" microphone and line inputs, a stereo line input, eight XLR outputs and an AES3 stereo digital output, complemented by dedicated Dante and SLink connections. Eight DCA groups, eight mute groups and a configurable footswitch connection provide additional workflow flexibility. From live performances and corporate events to broadcast facilities and houses of worship, the Allen & Heath Qu-3D offers an adaptable mixing platform with extensive processing, flexible networking and integrated recording capabilities.
